Many people turn their sights on Florida when the weather gets cold up north. It certainly can be a welcome break from the snow, ice and frigid temperatures. Of course, Florida is no small state so it is important to decide where you are going to visit before you cross the border. If you really want a fantastic vacation, don’t stop until you get to the southeast coast.
The entire Southeast portion of the state of Florida is absolutely fantastic. It is especially nice in the winter time, and the temperatures tend to be fairly even from the middle of October until May. This is due, in part, to the close proximity of the Gulfstream which pulls in warmer temperatures from down south. In fact, the Gulfstream is closer in the area of West Palm Beach than it is in almost any other location along the eastern seaboard of the United States.
Aside from the warm weather, you also have plenty of places to visit. It starts just north of West Palm Beach and stretches down through Miami. With a distance of almost 70 miles between the two, you have plenty of locations to enjoy a stopover. Some of the popular locations for tourists include Delray Beach, Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale and of course, South Beach in Miami. There is so much to do in this part of the state that it is difficult to take it all in with a single trip.
Of course, you will want to check out the beaches when you are visiting the southeast coast and there are many different options available. Some people will want to visit a smaller beach, such as the one in Delray or Boynton, the neighbor to the north. If you are really up for some adventure, however, is difficult to beat a trip to South Beach. Regardless of whether you are interested in sunning yourself, checking out the Art Deco or looking for celebrities, it has plenty to offer.
The only problem with making a visit to Southeast Florida is the fact that it is often over far too quickly. When you visit the area, you will be able to recharge your batteries and enjoy some warm temperatures along with plenty of sunshine and beautiful scenery. Just be careful, you may enjoy it so much that you don’t ever want to go home again.
