About

I’m a Podunk country bumpkin…fascinated by humans, their absurdity, innovativeness, perception, logic, need for control, destructiveness, creativity, and beauty. We are a very funny bunch for being so serious. My work deals with combining nature and technology in the form of hybrid creatures. These creatures are post apocalyptic, the future societies, what has evolved over time in a computerized world. They are strange, cute, funny, and a little pathetic.

My Chaboo

My goal with the chaboo was to build something that was both appropriate for my time schedule and the community’s pocket book. Using only found materials and a limited amount of working time, my plywood and newspaper chaboo was made. I love the look of newsprint and the way it both ages and preserves time at once. It reminds me of exploring collapsing homestead cabins with layers of newspaper insulating the walls, trying to search for dates and piece together clips of past cultures. I’m interested in what my chaboo says now, but also like the idea of it all yellowed from time and what will still stand out as important moments in time.
