Growing up in backwoods Minnesota, I come from open fields plump with garter snakes, cattail jungles, and trucks full of bored kids. They are the things I run from and return to everyday. Something about a small town is hard to shake from your bones, and even in the city I keep it, quiet, but I still keep it. I draw, paint, sculpt what I know.

My chaboo is something I have wanted to paint for a long time, I have just been waiting for the right opportunity and media. I have been painting and sculpting in unison, but had yet to unite the two. The Chaboo does most of the work as a transition from flat paper to an angular arch in the beautiful world of 3-d. Snakes and rainbows are a whole other story.
