I am a native artist from Portland, OR. I am inspired by our city, its people and the community and it shows in my work. I am also a writer, which has invaded my colorful paintings as a textual element that helps narrate my art, inspired by comic books, mythology, the region and pop culture.
My Chaboo
I love painting on furniture and the chaboo was definitely a fun canvas to explore, since it is both a bench and a table. I worked with its natural shape extending passed edges, but retaining the natural grain and allowing the people and text to read like a 3D comic book.
