Coronavirus. Toulouse. Faced with the boom in teleworking, they are creating customizable, designer offices.
In Toulouse, the furniture manufacturer Louis has been able to adapt to the Covid-10 crisis and the boom in teleworking by designing customised and personalised desks.
There are companies that have been able to intelligently adapt their offer during the confinement, so as not to be affected by the crisis, such as Louis, a furniture manufacturer from Toulouse, founded in 2018 in Labège and specialized in the design of customized furniture for companies.
“An offer of custom-made furniture for the general public.”
The Toulouse-based start-up has taken advantage of the widespread use of home-based work during periods of confinement to roll out a new offering, this time aimed at private individuals. In its 700 sq. m. factory, the company is building design offices that are durable and modular (length, width, screen support and power outlet).
“At the beginning of the Covid-19 outbreak, we were completely shut down because our business customers were all closed,” says Louis’ general manager, Thomas Devineaux.”We quickly realized that we were ill-prepared and, above all, ill-equipped to telework with a minimum of comfort, not only for Louis’ employees, but also for many other employees who are forced to work from home. That’s how we came up with the idea of launching a dedicated offer of tailor-made offices for the general public, to transform and improve the daily lives of all these teleworkers”.
Sold from 456$ on
These “industrial” style desks are made of wood (from eco-managed European forests) and steel and are available from 456$ including VAT and are shipped within 48 hours. This ergonomic solution has been designed in collaboration with the table leg manufacturer Ripaton, located in Montpellier.at the same time, Louis has also formed a partnership with the Parisian company Adopte un bureau, specialized in the online sale of new and second-hand furniture.
“Typically, our qualified cabinetmakers make about 150 products a month,” says Devineaux.”But for the offer to individuals, the offices are smaller and simpler to make, so we are able to produce up to 80 per week”.
